We are a congregation of broken, saved people, whose focus is to grow in the knowledge of our God, Christ, and self, so that we may live a Spirit filled life with a mandate to love and evangelize the world.
Our church is a place where spiritual growth, servant service, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are essential.
"Joshua's Army" is a "God-birthed" fellowship of faithful men serving each other as prayer partners, mentors, and encouragers; demonstrating the true meaning of "real brothers in Christ."
Apostle Paul always made it a point to stay connected with those who partnered with him in ministry. He was deliberate in empowering committed men of God by routinely speaking into their lives and encouraging them in the faith.
Through various writings, Apostle Paul demonstrated the necessity of keeping iron sharp; Romans 16:20 - 26, Galatians 6:1 - 5, Ephesians 6:21 - 22, Philippians 1:1 - 9; 4:1 - 3, Colossians 1:1 - 5, 2 Timothy 4:11 are just a few examples.
Proverbs 27:17 states that iron sharpens iron and Ecclesiastes 4:9 - 12 indicates that there is strength in numbers (especially when those numbers are tied tightly together in unity of mind). Within the fellowship of Joshua's Army, we possess three distinct entities; the Word of God, the Son of God, and the Love of Christ.
God seeks out those who love Him and His commands so that He can bless, guide, and protect them. We believe that as women who endeavor to remain true to Him in all things, that we are Women covered by His favor! We realize that God is with us in all that we do and that nothing happens to us apart from His good purpose. He strengthens us in our valley moments and celebrates us on our mountain highs; therefore, our mission is to mirror the spirit of Mary as we present ourselves as vessels of honor unto God, loving him with our full heart, mind, and soul (Luke 1:28).
We take not for granted the next generation of believers that are coming into their own identity as God's unique creation whom we call "Teens." In our Teens Ministry, we believe God has called us, in partnership with the parents (guardians), to sow into the next generation of young people by teaching and instructing (discipling) them in the core biblical doctrines and disciplines of the Christian faith. We teach that God loves them, and He has a plan and purpose for their lives. We encourage them to live healthy, wise, and productive lives; advocating that God's way is the perfect way. We regularly inspire them to give and share by our godly example and challenge them to live a faith filled life.
We teach our teens to love ALL humankind with the passion of Jesus Christ, to have a love for the needy and unsaved, and a commitment to our church family. Our desire is to eventually "send" them into the world prepared for life, to be wholesome leaders, to have godly relationships, and to eagerly participate in kingdom service. 1 Tim 4:12
The gift of the womb are children. Gifts, we are proud to be stewards of; whom we encourage to fully participate in ministry worship and works. The children's church environment is conducive to their age group, with an emphasis of allowing them to have space to learn the word of God, as they come to understand His love towards them through Jesus Christ. We make a sincere effort in getting them indoctrinated in knowing the importance of their salvation and why it is relevant. We also provide them an opportunity to learn and participate in how church and worship service is developed. Occasionally, the children's church participates in our adult corporate worship with their own praise and dance team. In addition, their hearts and minds are expanded through ministry drama, arts and crafts, and community outreach. Ps 127:3-5; Mk 10:13-16
WOGCC intentionally utilizes our marriage ministry to be the catalyst for couples who need space to connect, have fun, speak candidly about their marriage experience, and share with others why they fell in love, during times when we just simply sit and break bread together. We attempt to set an atmosphere that welcome couples away from the ordinaries of life. We honestly believe that strong marriages make strong churches, and so it is important that spiritual maturity is essential to a relationship with Jesus. While individuals have a personal responsibility to grow their faith, marriages benefit when couples are developing spiritually together. When couples are spending time in God’s word, praying, attending church regularly, and learning about what it takes to have a godly marriage; the benefit is monumental. Marriages built on this foundation of faith are more likely to last. The Two Hearts, One Love marriage ministry at WOGCC is a place of fun, laughter, growth, and unity. Eph 5:15-29
