Bishop Holly Raby, a committed vessel of God with a passion for training and developing kingdom people into disciples for Christ. The calling and anointing to Pastor were prophetically spoken into his life at the early age of nine. Bishop Raby’s mandate from God is to advance the Gospel; giving special time by ministering to the saved, unsaved, un-churched, and unlearned through the “Word of God.” Bishop Raby firmly believes that deliverance has no boundaries. His name is often recognized as an Accomplished Leader, Visionary, Teacher, Mentor, Devoted Father and Husband.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Bishop Raby received his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Mount Olive University and his Master of Theological Study (MTS) from Regents University. Bishop Raby is a former U.S. Marine who retired in 2005 after serving twenty-eight years of honorable and faithful service.
In January 2004, Bishop Raby along with his wife Elder Sherry Raby became the founders and visionaries of Word of God Christian Center in New Bern, NC. They have committed themselves to “Reaching souls through evangelism and Teaching to disciple in Christ.” They are the proud parents of five sons, Dwayne, Mister, Brenton, Derron, Terrance, and fourteen grandchildren.
Bishop Raby humbly serves as the spiritual covering of Emmanuel Christian Church; (Senior Pastor Thawng Soong-Zik).
Lady Sherry Raby accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior in January 1994. Since then, she has faithfully served God in various capacities within the church. Lady Sherry is a native of Gary, Indiana. She joined the Marine Corps in 1983 and in 1992, while serving on active duty in Okinawa, Japan, she met and later married a powerfully anointed man of God, Holly Raby.
Through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Lady Sherry retired from the Marine Corps in 2004 after twenty years of faithful and honest service, and now devotes her time and efforts to the diligent study of God's Word and teaching the saints of God to become powerful Disciples of Christ.
She earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration from Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) in 2005 and a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Mount Olive College (New Bern, NC) in 2010. Under the leadership of her Pastor and husband, Bishop Holly Raby, founder of Word of God Christian Center in New Bern, NC, Lady Sherry remains committed to teaching sound biblical doctrine and standing firm on the Word of truth. She is a mentor, and trusted confidant. She fully supports the spiritual vision of the ministry in the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: "Reaching the un-saved, un-churched and through evangelism and teaching the saved to be Disciples of Christ".
